Assent-Based & Trauma-Informed Behavior Therapy

Behavior Services for Children Ages 4-12

Is your child presenting with behavioral concerns? Negative thought patterns, refusal, outburst, meltdowns?

Are they having difficulty with communication, social skills, or emotional regulation? Are YOU feeling stressed and frustrated?

Children are constantly growing and developing- those years are the prime time for brain development and growth. They imitate and repeat what the see and hear, noticing what is going on around them in their environment. This time is crucial to teach them positive skills... functional skills... independent skills... emotional regulation... the list can go on. The more mindful of how we are helping shape our children's growth, the more we can set them up for success with a solid foundation to foster positive relationships with themselves and others.

1:1 Holistic Behavior Analysis Services

Utilizing principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), We work to help teach children various functional skills that are needed in order to build a solid foundation for growth. We model and teach skills & together we practice those skills to build habits. Positive reinforcement and encouragement is provided, based on the needs of each child. We build a strong foundation, starting from their current strengths, while targeting areas for growth. We utilize a whole-person approach, taking all needs into consideration. We believe in assent, asking permission and following signs of a child's assent during treatment to ensure maximum benefits and outcomes of treatment.

Behavior Services for Adolescents Ages 12-19

Is your adolescent struggling keeping up with their responsibilities?  Are they spending too much time distracted by their phone?

Adolescents are faced with many internal and external variables that are affecting their lives... peer pressure, life transitions, expectations and responsibilities, pressure from social media, medical concerns, family dynamics... the list can go on. These variables can create negative thought patterns, a dysregulated system, and negative perception of self and relationships with others. You may have noticed the traditional counseling approach may not have been the most effective for your adolescent or they want to try something new.

1:1 Holistic Behavior Analysis Services for Adolescents

Utilizing Clinical Behavior Analysis (CBA) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we will create an individualized plan to address variables that are impacting their life by building up their toolbox of positive skills to help them achieve their goals and foster positive relationships with themselves and others.

We begin by building mindfulness, self-care, and emotional regulation skills, as well as psychological flexibility, as it is important to begin with a solid foundation to be able to regulate one's own body and notice when the system is beginning to dysregulate.
